Yesterday members of the self-appointed OEA set-up a climate crime scene at the Premiers constituency office in Fort Saskatchewan. The OEA taped off the Premiers windows and doors with caution tape and then set-up a perimeter to ensure public safety.
"We've been wanting to get the Premier for quite some time. He's on the top of the nation's climate most wanted list," said Agent Pink. "You can't just build a project that's set to emit over 141 million tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions into the air and think you are going to get away with it."
After the OEA agents set up the crime scene, they chased and arrested a mock-Ed Stelmach charging him with Climate Crimes and Crimes Against the Environment.
"Crimes Against the Environment is pretty much the highest crime you can be charged with and the Premier's involvement in the Tar Sands fits it perfectly," said Agent Orange. "The Tar Sands are dirty, dirty business and taking down the Premier is just the first step in breaking this climate crime ring."
The action was part of over 150 actions that took place all over the world on International Fossil Fools Day. To get more information about the day visit - www.fossilfoolsday.org or www.energyactioncoalition.org/fossilfools
